The link asks for the file content, but as you can see from the listing below, there is no such file. The browser has a set of preferences for the contents it prefers. The server looks in its MIME types file and checks if there are any files named content that have an extension that matches any of the MIME types that the browser prefers. If there is one, then the server sends it to the browser.
When we write our own scripts, we will see how to change the preferences for content type
